This year’s candidates

Timothy Lloyd, Labour
Tim Lloyd is a retired Industrial Designer and has lived in Wokingham Borough for 25 years. Previously he was a parish councillor in Chineham, Basingstoke. He is married with 3 adult children.
“If elected I would work with the WBC Labour group to resist politically motivated ‘austerity’ cuts and prioritise the provision of services to people across all of Wokingham. I have a keen interest in planning matters and would challenge the local and national Tory policies that are putting development ahead of infrastructure and reducing existing public amenities.”

Chris Smith, Conservatives
Chris has lived in Earley for 30 years and attended Hillside Primary School and has many other connections to Earley.
He trained as accountant with one of the largest international accountancy firms and has used his knowledge and experience gained from this in his work as a school governor for a special needs school in Reading.
As one of the youngest councillors in Wokingham, Chris ensures that younger residents has a strong voice on the council.

Sue Smith, Liberal Democrats
Sue has lived in the Borough for over 12 years. She is leading the campaign to protect the woodland near to Chalfont Park behind M&S and McDonald’s. The Council confirmed last month that they were looking at the site.
Sue wants to know why the Bus Stop on Rushey Way has been out of action for a year?
She is concerned that £150 million is being spent on Wokingham Town Centre, its time some money was spent on Earley, especially on our roads. She has campaigned to get the Government to give more money to Wokingham Schools.
