A WOMAN from Sonning has voted in today’s local elections.
She was accompanied by her husband.
They drove to the polling station, which was Beech Lodge, off Liguge Way.
As they got out of their car, the woman stopped to chat to some people in the play park, and gave teller Enid Harvey a hug after she checked her polling card. She also spoke with Conservative activist Sam Akhjar before going into the polling station to cast their votes.
Once they had voted, they got back into their car and drove off again.
They were taking part in the Wokingham Borough Council local elections 2019 – the seat is a Conservative seat and is being contested by Michael Firmager for the party. He is up against Phillipa Hills for Labour, Tom McCann for the Lib Dems and Brian O’Callaghan for the Green Party.
