Yesterday, Wokingham’s voters went to the polls to choose 18 seats on the borough council.
The wards cover the whole borough, from Twyford in the north to Shinfield in the south.
There are some key seats that parties have been fighting for, and today the votes cast will be counted.
The Lib Dems will be looking to make additional gains on last year – if they win their key target seats, they could see themselves with a majority on the council.
The Conservatives need to win back just one seat to get that majority – but will the local vote echo the national one, or indeed the vote in Windsor which saw the Lib Dems gain control?
Labour will also be hoping to make gains, adding to their representation in the council chamber.
There are also some wards where smaller parties are standing, including Evendons where Louise Timlin is standing for the Women’s Equality Party.
And there are four independent candidates too, all hoping for a seat in the chamber.
We will bring you results and analysis, plus some bad jokes, throughout the day with our live blog.
