CANINE superstars in the borough will take their owners to a dog show in Wokingham this month.
Keen to win prizes, pooches of all shapes and sizes will appear at a SAFE Dog Show in the town’s Cantley Park.
Wokingham charity SAFE (Saving Abandoned Fly-Grazing Equines), is hosting the event as part of their annual fundraising event to support their work rescuing abandoned horses in the borough.
There are plenty of classes to enter, including: Loveliest Lady, Fabulous Fella, Waggiest Tail, Best Tricks, Best Senior, Best Puppy, Young Handler (handler aged 10 to 16), Young Handler (handler aged nine or younger), Best Rescue, Best In Show, and Musical Sit – just for fun.
Organiser Cassie, said: “People can enter their dogs for as many classes as they like.
“We’ve also go Look and Lead coming to give a gundog demonstration, and during the day there will be a Scurry.”
This is a fun competition to find the dog that can retrieve an item in the fastest time.
The Dog Show, part of SAFE Family Fun Day, takes place in Cantley Park, on Saturday, July 27.
Entry to the event costs £2 for adults, with under 18s free.
Gates are open from 11am until 5pm.
The Dog Show stars at noon, with entry costing £3.
People can register at the event.
Nearby parking will be limited, and drivers are asked to use town centre car parks, or to walk if possible.
Blue Badge spaces will be available at the venue.
