A WOKINGHAM care home has recently supported local charity The Cowshed.
West Oak Care Home on Murray Road, presented the Wokingham charity with a donation that will help stock its craft room project.
The Cowshed supports people facing hardship across our community, providing essential items, practical help, and dignity to individuals and families when they need it most.
The amount of £1K was awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, which supports older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help them connect or re-connect with others in their local community.
The West Oak team welcomed Candice Botha from The Cowshed to receive the cheque.
After a tour of the home, she was able to discuss with them how West Oak could help support the charity.
She said: “A huge thank you to Barchester for its support and generosity in helping our craft room thrive, and giving our volunteers the resources they need to make a real difference in the community.”
Agnes Klimkowicz-Buda, general manager at West Oak, said: “It was a pleasure to meet Candice.
“We are always keen to show as much support as we can to local charities.
“The Cowshed team provides an important service to our local community here in Wokingham and we are happy to be able to support them.”
West Oak is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, committed to delivering high-quality care across its care homes and hospitals.
