Westende Junior School is a candidate for the Modeshift South East Region school of the year award.
The Wokingham primary has been using the Modeshift STARS for many years and has achieved Excellent level accreditation.
It has completed 48 initiatives to encourage active travel and 51 supporting initiatives. These include:

A healthy travel workshop
Linking with other schools in the Circle Education Trust to reduce the school’s carbon footprint.
The award winners will be announced in March 2026.
