WOKINGHAM author David Palin releases his dangerous new thriller this month.
Published by Matthew James Publishing, David’s book, The Scorpion Archipelago begins locally, in Bracknell.
The story follows Professor Edward Such, his daughter Jane, and her husband Pete, as they journey to a remote chain of islands untouched by modern man.
What the trio uncover there is not merely a forgotten civilisation, but something far more dangerous.
When a centuries-old trap is sprung, ancient evils are let loose, forcing the family to confront long-buried truths about the islands — and about themselves.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for me to look into the obsessive and sometimes evil side of human nature whilst exploring the cost of uncovering the truth,” said Palin.
“The book is laced with ancient mystery and unsettling power, but very much set in this world.”
David is the author of several published novels, with a particular focus on dark psychological thrillers.
He is drawn to all things dark, and mysterious, that lurk in the shadows of human life.
The Scorpion Archipelago, his seventh published work, combines all of these.
Born in West London, David now lives in Berkshire.
He says that he is especially intrigued by the things that hide, often in plain sight, in the shadows beyond the light of our everyday lives.
As a fluent German speaker and having studied English and German literature, he believes we are drawn to darker tales and imaginings.
His latest novel, The Scorpion Archipelago, is released on January 29, and is available to buy from Amazon, Waterstones, and all good bookshops.
