A BOROUGH choir is preparing to perform a concert with music written by two classical music giants.
Wokingham Choral Society will sing Haydn’s Theresienmesse, and Beethoven’s Opferlied (Opus 121b).
The choir numbers more than 100 singers, and performs two concerts featuring major works from the classical repertoire each year with professional soloists and orchestras.
It also runs workshops, and performs a family Christmas concert, and a light summer concert.
The group’s musical director is Cathal Garvey, and its accompanist is George De Voil.
The choir’s next concert will take place in The Great Hall, University of Reading, on Saturday, November 18.
Doors open at 7.30pm, with tickets available for £17.50, or £5 for students and under 18s.
