ENGAGE is Arborfield’s events committee, with Chairs Sophie Ames and Melanie Incledon-Hunter joined by Rebecca Hensley to collect the award.
They said “It was a complete shock for us to win, especially as another group was also selected for the award, but it was even to be nominated.
“We’re really pleased to receive the recognition– to be surround by the other nominees was very inspiring, as they all do such amazing things.
“You naturally compare yourself all the time, so it’s fantastic to be here.”
They explained: “It spurs you on, and we’ve got a lot of ideas for next year and beyond; each year people get to know you more, and our team continues to grow.
“Because there’s a large community in Arborfield, it feels great that people turn up, because we’re all volunteers.
“With so many new residents in the area, which is growing at a rate of knotts, we want to make sure there’s plenty going on for families and help people in the are to enjoy themselves.”
