Community Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Clifton Ingram: Jack Hobbs
This year’s Community Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Clifton Ingram, went to Jack Hobbs.
It comes after Mr Hobbs has headed up the business for more than 35 years, providing professional cleaning in first the domestic and then commercial sector.
Founded in 1977, Mr Hobbs built the company from a small window cleaning business to a limited company covering a wide array of professional services.
The business has now been passed on to family members following decades of hard work from Mr Hobbs.
He said of winning the award: “It feels absolutely amazing, and completely unexpected.
” I’m a working man who’s built up a reputation over years, but if it were not for the people who worked for me over the years, it simply wouldn’t have been a business.
“You are only as good as your staff and crew, and you really have to treat them well.”
“My daughter and son-in-law have now moved up to take on that side of the business, and they have the same passion as I did for all those years.”
“It’s amazing to be here in the room this evening, and it’s been a great evening– I can’t help but thank everyone who has come to support us, it’s been really marvellous.”
