In March and April, a Wokingham borough councillor will be taking part in two running events.
Finchampstead councillor Rebecca Margetts will be running the Paris marathon on Sunday, April 12, and the Reading half marathon on Sunday, March 22. to raise money for JAC in Wokingham.
She told Wokingham Today: ”For the Reading half marathon, I will be running as part of a human caterpillar team.
“With Gina, Katie, Shira and Lucy, we will be taking on the race in unforgettable style — as the legendary “Coasterpiller””
“We will be joined together as one glorious Finch Coasters caterpillar, weaving our way through 13.1 miles of Reading in a spectacle of teamwork, determination, and slightly questionable aerodynamics.
“As we race (or wriggle) our way to the finish line, we’ll also be raising money for Wokingham-based charity Just Around the Corner, the Finch Coasters charity of the year 2026.”
Founded in 1998, JAC is a unique centre providing personal learning and development therapies for children and young people.
