CREWS from Wokingham and Bracknell fire stations have been attending a an incident in Burghfield this afternoon where a number of fires have broken out.
Crews from the borough joined appliances from Caversham Road, Dee Road and Whitley Wood stations to battle the fires which had broken out over a 10-acre area of land belonging to the Englefield Estate near Reading Road at around 1.30pm.
A spokesperson for Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue said that crews confirmed shortly before 4pm that the fires were contained to a 10-acre area of land, not 30 acres as previously reported.
A large off-road vehicle from Bracknell had also been deployed to the scene to help efforts.
Motorists are currently being diverted away from the area and being told to expect delays throughout the afternoon while the fires are brought under control.
