Wokingham Rock Choir will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special concert later this month.
The show takes place at Reading Town Hall on Saturday, July 13 at 2.30pm and the choir will be performing a selection of their favourites learnt over the past decade together with the newest songs from their repertoire and will, for the first time, be accompanied on stage by a live band.
The audience can expect an uplifting performance with popular songs including a powerful rendition of This Is Me, the upbeat Higher Love and Elton John’s I’m Still Standing, which is expected to get everyone clapping along and tapping their toes.
The 130-strong choir will also perform a unique arrangement of Fall At Your Feet and With Or Without You, which the members have recently recorded at the world famous Air Studios in London.
Conducting the choir will be the talented Glen Harvey who has been busy preparing members for a show-stopping performance to mark his 10th year as their choir leader.
He said “Wokingham Rock Choir performed its first full summer show at Reading Town Hall and we are really excited about returning to the venue for our 10-year anniversary concert.
“The show will be a one-off special to mark a decade since Rock Choir launched in Wokingham.
“There’ll be something for everyone from the Annie Lennox classic Walking On Broken Glass to Katy Perry’s Roar, and with a live band to accompany the choir, it’s set to be a very entertaining afternoon.”
Tickets for the show are now on sale from Reading Town Hall. Visit www.readingtownhall.co.uk or call 0118 937 3400.
There will also be a second show in the evening of July 13, showcasing the Windsor and Maidenhead choirs.
