SUNNY Saturdays are back, and this year started with a big band sound.
Wokingham Town Council’s free summer music events kicked off at the weekend with the Blue Sky Big Band.
The group entertained visitors to the town with a mix of rock and roll, swing and jazz.
The twenty amateur musicians describe themselves as passionate players with four sections: saxophones, trumpets, trombones and rhythm.

Based in Berkshire, they regularly perform in Wokingham, Reading and Windsor, as well as further afield.
During July, free Sunny Saturday performances give people a chance to meet with friends and enjoy lunch or a drink from one of the town’s bars and cafés.
Live music can be enjoyed at Wokingham’s Peach Place, where a number of cafés, bars and eating establishments are located.
Refreshments can be conveniently purchased while listening.
Outdoor seating is available, but people are also invited to bring their own chairs to the courtyard.
And each weekend a gazebo is raised, so that performances can go ahead whatever the weather.
A council spokesperson said: “Please do come along to Peach Place and enjoy the music each week.
“It’s not often that you get to hear some of the genres here in the town centre.
“We hope it adds a little ‘something’ to your Saturday.”
The next two Sunny Saturdays take place on July 8 and 15, from 11am to 1pm.
Lunchtime Legends and Wokingham Uke Jam will perform on July 8, and The Pantasy Steel Band will play on July 15.
