CIGARETTES have been stolen from a Wokingham town centre newsagent following an early morning raid.
The Peach Street branch of McColl’s was the target for thieves, who smashed a pane of glass in the front door to gain access.
The incident happened around 3.15am on Saturday, June 17.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “We are investigating a burglary at the business, occurring at about 3.15am this morning.
“The offender broke into the store and stole tobacco products.
“Police officers have attended the scene and a scenewatch is now in place.”
The thieves’ actions were captured on CCTV, but police are still appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“CCTV has been obtained, but further CCTV enquiries are ongoing,” the spokesperson added.
“If anyone has CCTV in Peach Street or has any information about the offence, please contact the police by calling 101 or via our website, quoting investigation reference 43230266099.”
The force will also be conducting house-to-house enquiries as they seek more information about the crime.
