AS PART of their Christmas Cheer grant Wokingham United Charities funded Christmas hampers for families that might otherwise have struggled through the holiday period.
Volunteers at Kaleidoscopic UK were able to fill 63 food hampers with plenty to keep families going during the festive period, thanks to the grant given to borough charities working with people experiencing hardship.
CEO of Kaleidoscopic UK Vickie Robertson, said: “We are so grateful to Wokingham United Charities for their support, as well as to Berkshire Community Foundation.
“Because of their combined funding, we were able to provide 63 Christmas food hampers to clients and their families, containing all the Christmas goodies and essentials, and food to keep them going for the whole week.
“The feedback has, as always, been so heartfelt, with many saying their cupboards had never been so full.
“People say how grateful they are to know that they are not alone and that others care.
“It makes them feel part of our amazing community and that they deserve to have all the nice things too.
“We are also grateful to Luke at No More digging Thames valley and team for being our reindeer for many years running, and allowing us to turn his business space into a hamper packing space once again.
“This isn’t possible without all the amazing volunteers who make this possible each year at Kaleidoscopic.”
