Young people and their families descended on High Close School last weekend to take part in the annual celebration event for Barnardo’s service users across the South East and Anglia.
The Wokingham school held the event on Saturday, July 6. Young people were involved in music workshops, wood sculpting, spray painting and more.
The event also had an awards ceremony which recognised young people in categories including perseverance, bravery and demonstrating a positive attitude.
Tina Douglas, Lead for Voice of the Child in the South East and Anglia region said: “Our annual celebration event is a wonderful opportunity for us to gather together young people along with their families and Barnardo’s colleagues to celebrate their achievements.
“It was a warm and sunny day and everyone enjoyed the activities and the chance to have fun and socialise. Our young people are incredibly inspirational and show such resilience – it really is a privilege to be part of this event and show how much we enjoy working with them and helping them achieve their full potential.
“This event is also made more special by the fact that it is young people from Barnardo’s services who are instrumental in organising the event and the programme of activities for the day.”
