TAXI FARES in Wokingham borough could increase for the first time since 2010.
The borough council is consulting on a proposal to increase taxi fares to reflect increases in the cost of living.
It comes after a request was submitted to the Licensing and Appeals Committee by the Licensed Hackney Carriages.
It would mean that late evening tariffs apply from 10.30pm, the charging rate would increase, as well as the cost for an extra passenger and cleaning.
If there are no objections, the changes would apply from Tuesday, March 1. If there are objections, the proposal will be discussed at the Licensing and Appeals Committee meeting on Wednesday, March 2.
The deadline to respond is Wednesday, February 16.
