BUILD and explore is the Minecraft maxim.
A Woodley church aims to help young visitors to do just that as they dig into a Saturday morning church service.
Emmanuel Church, Woodley runs Minecraft Church, which it describes as a creative church service for all ages.
The service is designed to help young neurodiverse people engage with church in a way that works for them, reaching young people and their families who don’t usually go to church.
Minecraft Church, is increasingly popular, say the organisers, and is a space that helps people of all ages explore themes of faith through the online world of Minecraft and Lego.
Around 20 to 30 people come along, and visitors are invited to bring a laptop or tablet if they have one, although the church has some available.
The group meets monthly on Saturday mornings from 10am until 11.30am.
Service dates are: January 27, February 24, March 23, April 27, May 18, June 29, July 20, September 28, October 19, and November 23.
The first meeting is at Emmanuel Church, this Saturday, January 27.
