A PHARMACY in Woodley has thrown its support behind a local charity for its annual fundraising day.
Day Lewis Pharmacy, in Hurricane Way, will be holding the fun day, which will include a raffle and a cake sale, on Friday, June 2, with all money raised on the day being matched by the pharmacy’s head office and donated to the Me2 Club.
The charity, which is based in Headley Road, enables young people with additional physical and educational needs the opportunity to take part in mainstream activities through the help of volunteers.
Pharmacy manager Wasim Miyanji said: “The team at Day Lewis Pharmacy in Woodley are really excited to sponsor Me2 Club for our charity day on Friday, June 2.
“We picked Me2 Club because it’s a local charity and we try and do our part for the local community.
“We are all passionate about ensuring that our local kids, who may have additional needs and disabilities, are given the same opportunities as other children.
“We know that recently there’s been lots of cuts to charity funding and it’s our local charities that have been mostly affected.”
The fundraising day will take place all day on Friday, June 2, with a short break between 1pm and 2pm.
