Contractors at California crossroads have acted to ensure the safety of parents and children attending the nearby Nine Mile Ride Primary School.
Temporary traffic lights were installed earlier this week, but these have now been replaced by human-controlled stop-go boards at busy times.
It is understood the site foreman has implemented the change after monitoring the junction earlier this week, and to ensure the safety of pupils and parents from 8.15am until 9am, and again when the school day finishes.
