FRANTISEK BAKRLIK has left Bracknell Bees to join EPIHL rivals Milton Keynes Lightning.
Rumour has been rife this week regarding the future of the Czech forward, who only signed on at the Hive during the summer, where he joined the side from Manchester Phoenix.
However, following discussions with club owners over the past few days, Bakrlik has opted to move on and has accepted a switch to the Buckinghamshire side.
“It is with deep sadness that this press release has been issued,” said Bees chairman Andrew Cross.
“Frankie has conducted himself with the utmost professionalism throughout his time at Bracknell.
“His reasons for leaving are honorable and well intended.
“We depart on excellent terms and he will play in a Bracknell shirt again.”
Bakrlik was enjoying a prolific season with Bracknell, racking up 15 goals and as many assists in 17 games – putting him second in the Bees’ scoring charts this term.
The player also signed off his time in Berkshire with a goal, netting during what would be his final game in the black and gold – Sunday’s 4-3 victory over Swindon Wildcats.
Bakrlik also picked up 36 penalty minutes.
Frantisek’s gritty play and big shot had also quickly endeared himself to the Bees faithful, who will no doubt be disappointed to lose a player of such quality.
Bracknell are back in league action tomorrow night (Thursday), taking on Peterborough Phantoms in a rearranged fixture at the Hive.
Face-off is 7.45pm
Cross added: “What is important now is we all get behind this team and cheer them on at every home game.
