Finchampstead climbed up to second in the Home Counties Premier League with a thrilling one-wicket win over High Wycombe.
In a battle of the last two champions, the game went all the way to the wire with Finches battling from 207-9 to the winning post of 230 after a memorable final wicket stand from Craig Hodges (21) and JJ Dewes (5).
Finch made the trip to Buckinghamshire having made one change from the side which drew with Slough as Ed Oliver replaced Greg Smith.
And the visitors produced a fine bowling display throughout. Two early wickets from Matt Carter plus one for Anthony Parson saw High Wycombe reeling on 58-3.
A knock of 76 from Patrick Castleden steadied the ship, but three wickets apiece for Jandre Coetzee (3-51) and Dewes (3-55) helped dismiss Wycombe for 229.
And Finch looked well placed after Andrew House fell for 95 with the visitors sitting on 134-2.
Dan Marles (34) and Dan Lincoln (29) offered some resistance but a batting collapse saw that quickly become 196-8 and then 207-9 before Hodges and Dewes saw the win home.
At the halfway mark, Finches sit second in the table, 16 points off leaders Henley.
In Thames Valley Division 1, WOKINGHAM keep rolling on with a six-wicket win over Falkland.
Stuart Hayter’s men have now won five matches on the spin and sit top, 12 points clear of Stoke Green.
It was a high class bowling display which set up the latest win at Sadlers End.
After winning the toss, Oaks decided to field first and the first innings was complete after 36 overs with the top Falkland scorer reaching just 19.
Jacob Clark was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 6-27 from his 10 overs while Paul McCraw picked up three wickets to dismiss the visitors for 93.
And Wokingham eased to the winning post after 34 overs thanks to unbeaten knocks from Archie Carter (40) and Jack Wood (25).
