TALENTED youngsters from a local theatre school took time out from rehearsals for a forthcoming Disneyland performance to record some harmonies in a recording studio.
Earlier this month, the 20 students from Steppin Out Stars of Tomorrow visited No Machine Studios in Wokingham as part of their preparations for their Parish date this April.
They were laying down tracks and finalising harmonies for the specialist track – and gained valuable experience in the process.
Steppin Out principal Shelley Otway – who has played leads in West End and touring shows – was delighted with the way it went.
She said: “The children had a great time and experienced first-hand what it is like to record in a professional recording studio.”
And that view was echoed by 14-year-old Taylor Roark who attends the Woodley school on Fridays – classes are also held in Wargrave on Thursdays and Wokingham on Saturdays.
She said: “It was brilliant and so much fun, especially using the headphones”
The pupils have to wait until April before they hear the track in action: that’s when they will perform in Paris.
For their show, they will take part in a variety of songs and dances with a western theme that they have been working on for the past eight months.
