LUCKLEY House School is to host a lecture that aims to remove some of the comforting myths around Britain’s slave trade.
The school’s head of History Seb Phillips, will talk about the changing narrative surrounding Britain’s abolition of the Atlantic slave trade.
He explores complex arguments that eventually led to the end of Britain’s transatlantic slave trade, and will challenge some of the stories we have been told about it.
He will also be exploring modern slavery.
The free event takes place at the school’s Whitty Theatre, on Thursday, October 12.
Doors open at 6pm, with tickets available to book, free of charge, online.
