WITH the festive season just around the corner, a Wokingham parish is preparing to celebrate Christmas.
St Paul’s Church on Reading Road will hold reflective Christmas services, as well as events for younger children.
The parish embraces three church families: St Paul’s Church, St Nicholas Church, which meets in Emmbrook Village Hall, and Woosehill Church, situated behind Hawthornes School.
The Reverend Canon Richard Lamey, said:”I love Christmas for so many reasons, including meeting up with family, and remembering people I spent Christmas with in the past.
“And I love the way that the Church offers somewhere for the whole community to gather together.
“There, at the heart of it all, in the middle of all the busyness, organisation, and rush, people can come and find a still, calm space, with a manger, where a baby is born at night time just because God loves us, and can’t bear to be apart from us any longer.”

Then on Wednesday, December 20 there will be a Crib Service for younger children at 10am.
