AN APPEAL for witnesses has been made after a man was assaulted in Wokingham town centre.
Four arrests have been made as a result of the attack, which took place around 10.30pm on Saturday, March 12.
Thames Valley Police said that the victim was punched and kicked to the ground by a group who walked off when witnesses intervened.
The 24-year-old victim has serious bruising and swelling to his head, face and body, and a suspected fractured eye socket. He was treated for his injuries at Frimley Park Hospital and was discharged the following morning.
A 16-year old girl from Wokingham, a 19-year-old man of no fixed abode, a 20-year-old man from Wokingham and a 20-year-old-man from Finchampstead have been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail until 9 April.
However, Thames Valley Police have launched an appeal to trace three witnesses at the scene.
Investigating officer, Det Con Nicola Wright of Local CID at Loddon Valley police station, said: “We would like to speak witnesses, two men and a woman, who helped the victim to The Gig House pub where he received first aid treatment and an ambulance was called. They might hold valuable information to help with the investigation.
