DAVID Wilson Homes has partnered with a borough Brownie pack to host a creative watering can workshop as part of its new energy efficiency campaign.
Arborfield Brownies will take part in an event which the housebuilder hopes will demonstrate the water savings in its homes.
Arborfield Brownies decorated metal watering cans with acrylic paint designs, inspired by water and the environment.
Their work will be displayed at David Wilson Homes Finchwood Park development in Finchampstead, to showcase how much water new homes can save.
The workshop is part of a wider campaign, as the housebuilder is partnering with local schools and community groups to help visualise the energy and water savings of its new build homes at Finchwood Park.
The partnership aims to educate and inspire young minds about sustainable living, while showcasing energy-efficient features of the development.
The company previously partnered with the Brownies in 2024 to create colourful hanging baskets with pollinator friendly species of flowers, as part of its No Mow May campaign.
David Wilson Homes says it uses the latest water and energy saving technologies, and that its water efficient kitchen and bathroom fittings could reduce water usage and bills by 27% compared to those living in older homes.
Karen, a Brownie leader, commented: “With sustainability being a key theme of our programme, the Brownies were excited to work with David Wilson Homes once again, this time to showcase their creative designs and to learn more about water and energy usage in the home.
“All the girls loved designing the watering cans and we look forward to seeing them proudly on display.”
Alex Dowling, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt David Wilson Southern Counties, said: “We are proud to be working again with the Arborfield Brownies for our new campaign to highlight sustainable living and how we can all reduce our water and energy usage.
“Their designs really bring this to life and the exhibition will be on display for any visitors to our open day on Saturday, April 5, when people can find out about the water efficiency of our Finchwood Park homes.”
Arborfield Brownies are looking to open new Girlguiding units in the area to offer local girls the opportunity to build their confidence, have adventures and learn new skills.
To do this, the unit requires volunteers.
Volunteering is a way to meet new people and make new friends who know the local area.
