A planning application that could see more homes in Arborfield has been submitted.
The application is for land to the rear of Langley Common and south of School Road, and is seeking outline permission for the phased development of up to 27 dwellings, including one self-build plot, with all matters reserved except access into the site.
The site is approximately 2.85 hectares and comprises a substantial parcel of land, historically used for the grazing of horses.
To the north, east and south of the site is existing residential development located along School Road and Langley Common Road. To the west of the site is agricultural fields, with The Coombes C of E Primary school and Arborfield Cross located beyond.
The site is approximately 750 metres from the village of Arborfield Cross and 500 metres from the Arborfield Garrison strategic development which is allocated in the adopted core strategy for 3,500 dwellings.
The application has already received a number of objections.
One said: “The junction on School Road with Langley Common Road is dangerous.
“Adding more traffic only increases the risk.”
A consultation into the plans is open until January 12, 2026.
