Police in Wokingham have confirmed a number of arrests relating to thefts from Wokingham town centre and surrounding areas.
Daniel Spencer, 34, from Blagrove Drive, Wokingham was arrested on January 23, 2024. He was subsequently charged with four counts of theft from shops including the Co-op and Original Factory Shop. He appeared at Reading Magistrates Court on January 25 where he was released on bail to re-attend the same court on March 11.
Gemma Turner, 24, from Blagrove Drive, Wokingham was arrested on January 29 2024. She was subsequently charged with two counts of theft from Co-op. She was released on bail to attend Reading Magistrates Court on February 14, 2024.
Charlie Pearce, 26, from Crown House, Wokingham was arrested on January 28, 2024. He was subsequently charged on January 29 2024 with nine counts of theft from shops, one count of attempted theft from shop and one count of a breach of a closure order. The offences relate to thefts at Morrisons, Waitrose, Original Factory Shop, Sports Direct in Bracknell and Co-op. He was due to attend Reading Magistrates Court this week.
Posting to social media, Thames Valley Police said: “The team continues to take retail theft seriously, and is working with partners to offer crime prevention advice and support to all involved.
