WORK, play and craft is the motto of a new firm opening its doors in Bracknell next month.
The Craft Coop will be based in Princess Square in The Lexicon.
The social enterprise offers a handmade giftshop and community space, giving artisans and craftspeople the opportunity to sell their creations.
This will be Craft Coop’s fifth store and the team are invitying artists, jewellers, potters, homeware creators, card makers, painters, pet accessory craftspeople to join its community.
Director of Craft Coop, Heidi Berry, says: “We’re so excited about opening our doors in Bracknell. We pride ourselves on the relationships we develop and the communities we work, play and craft with.”
In addition to being a ‘handmade gift shop with a social mission’, Craft Coop will run workshops where people can learn more about individual crafts.
Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Craft Coop to The Lexicon. With the local community at the centre of its business, it is sure to be popular with local craftspeople and shoppers.”
The store has also been welcomed by Bracknell Forest Council.
Its chief executive, Susan Halliwell, said: “We were keen to encourage a community-driven organisation such as Craft Coop to The Lexicon.
“The UK Shared Prosperity Fund gave us the opportunity to bring this to the town centre.
“This shop will give local artists a stepping stone into retail as well as offer access to fun activities for shoppers.”
