A CHARITY in Berkshire is holding a number of workshops to give help and advice to adults about living with autism.
Autism Berkshire is setting out a series of fortnightly, online events aimed at helping adults navigate daily life from the end of January.
They will explore autism and our understanding of it as well as how to increase their self confidence, how to deal with sensory differences, and tips for planning and organisation.
The sessions are open to people aged 18 and over with an autism diagnosis–or who are waiting for an assessment– and are registered with an NHS GP surgery in Berkshire.
The first session on Tuesday, January 30, explores sensory differences, with the second covering planning and organisation on February 13.
The third explores autism and anxiety on February 27, and the final session looks at understanding other people on March 12.
These sessions come ahead of further workshops aimed at parents and carers of autistic adults due later in the year.
Autism Berkshire’s chief executive officer, Jane Stanford-Beale, said: “People may have other commitments during the day, so these workshops are timed to give them the chance to benefit from advice and information from our adult support team.”
