A new permanent cash hub has opened in Crowthorne High Street, offering residents access to everyday banking services.
The facility, run by Cash Access UK, is located inside the Co-op store and provides services for customers of all major banks.
The hub includes a Post Office-operated counter, allowing people to withdraw and deposit cash, check balances and pay bills. It is open on weekdays between 09:00 and 17:00.
Cash Access UK said the hub is part of a wider effort to maintain access to cash as more banking services move online.
The Crowthorne site follows a similar initiative launched last year in South Wales, where the organisation partnered with Co-op to open a hub inside a convenience store.
Gareth Oakley, chief executive of Cash Access UK, said access to cash remained “important” for many communities and described the hub as an “ideal solution” for the area.
Co-op said the move reflected its commitment to supporting high streets and providing additional services for local communities.
Gary Williams, a director at the retailer, said the company aims to ensure its stores are “more than just a shop” by offering a range of services alongside groceries.
Local MP Peter Swallow welcomed the opening, saying access to cash remained vital for residents and businesses despite the growth of digital payments.
Before the permanent hub opened, a temporary service had been operating from Crowthorne Baptist Church. That service has now closed.
Bracknell Forest councillor Tina McKenzie-Boyle said the temporary hub had received “fantastic feedback” and thanked the church for hosting it.
She added that the permanent location would provide a convenient and central service for the community.
