A GROUP of borough crafters have adorned Christmas trees in and around Wokingham with colourful woollen headgear gifts.
The Barkham Hookers are well known for their year-round charity crochet projects, and for the way they lift borough spirits with joyful yarn bombing, meaningful poppies, and post box toppers.
Now they are raising their hats to Christmas.
Their Hatmas Trees can be found in different community spaces, bearing unique home-made beanies for people to enjoy, and for anyone who needs one to take.
“We’ve added some new trees to our collection this year,” said Barkham Hooker founder Gaynor White.
“It means we now have them in six locations, and we’ve made more than 250 hats to put on them.
“One of our members, Emma Jayne Spain, made 200 of these on her own.”
Anyone in need of a warm hat is invited to take one, with festive wishes for Christmas from The Barkham Hookers.
This year their gift-laden trees can be found in Wokingham at the Community Hub, Wade Day Centre, The Salvation Army Church, All Saints Church, and The Bradbury Centre, and at The FBC centre in Finchampstead,
