Hellenic Bluefin Challenge Cup

Binfield 4-2 Burnham

A hat-trick from Sean Moore ensured that Binfield came from behind to beat Burnham and book their place in the next round of the cup.

The visitors Burnham, who are currently in 17th position in the Hellenic Premier League, took a shock lead in the 19th minute.

But the Moles weren’t behind for long as Sean Moore notched his first goal of the evening to level the scores just three minutes after Burnham had broken the deadlock.

Binfield endured a difficult end to the first-half as Gallimore became the first Moles player to be sin binned under the new laws introduced this season, while Josh Howell was replaced by Jemel Johnson, with the sides level at the break.

It took until the 69th minute for Binfield to take advantage of their possession as an own goal put them in front for the first time in the contest.

Moore gave the Moles a two-goal cushion just four minutes later, converting from the penalty spot before Burnham pulled a goal back with 10 minutes remaining to put the pressure on once again.

But it was Binfield who would ensure their place in the next round as Moore completed his hat-trick with just two minutes left.

Binfield: Wheeler, Shaw, Regragui, Kamara, Gallimore, Howell, McClurg, Moore, Melledew, Helmore.
Subs: Valentin, Johnson, Thomson-Wheeler, Gavin.

Floodlit Challenge Cup

Flackwell Heath 2-1 Binfield

The Moles were unable to make it two cup successes within the week as they were eliminated by Flackwell Heath in the Floodlit Challenge Cup.

Having just been denied after a superb double save from the Flackwell goalkeeper, Binfield fell behind as the hosts hit them on the counter and opened the scoring after 22 minutes.

Flackwell thought they had doubled their lead after rebounding in from Wheeler’s brilliant save, but it was ruled out for offside.

However, the home side would ensure that they would go into the break with a 2-0 lead as they powered in a free-kick.

The Moles pulled a goal back in the 69th minute through Josh Helmore as they tried to claw their way back into the tie, but Flackwell managed to hold on as Binfield exited the cup.
