BOROUGH gardeners with blunt clippers and shears can get them fixed for the growing season.
Experts at California Gardeners Club will sharpen mower blades, secateurs, loppers, shears and other garden implements at their next tool sharpening event.
The club focuses on all things connected with the cultivation of plants and produce, and shares an interest in the natural world.
Members benefit from monthly meetings, a monthly newsletter, spring and autumn shows, a trading hut, outings, tool sharpening, and a Facebook community.
At its next monthly meeting the group will hear from Kevin Tooher (also known as Sir Plantalot) who will talk about how to grow container plants that don’t die.
He will speak at The California Ratepayers’ Hall, Finchampstead, on Monday, April 7.
Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.
The club’s next garden tool sharpening service will take place outside The California Ratepayers’ Hall, on Sunday, April 13 from 10am until noon.
Sharpening costs £2 per item, and the service is open to members and non-members.
