BEAUTY Therapy students from Bracknell and Wokingham College supported people in need at their recent Christmas Pamper Day.
Customers at their beauty event were able to buy a facial or a massage.
The session raised £220 to buy food for Bracknell Foodbank Christmas parcels.
Students then packaged up the parcels before dropping them off at Bracknell Foodbank, in Kerith Community Church.
Maddie Sharpe, 18, from Wokingham, a Beauty Therapy Level 3 Diploma student at Bracknell and Wokingham College, said: “I was quite impressed by how much we raised.
“We made all the parcels look nice, and I felt proud of all of us.
“It felt good putting all the work in, and rewarding to make up the parcels to give to people who need them.”
Bracknell Foodbank is part of a national network of foodbanks, giving out nutritionally balanced emergency food to people in crisis who have nowhere else to turn.
The hampers made up by the students will go to households in need over the Christmas period.

Hilary White, a Beauty Therapy teacher at Activate Learning, said: “The students’ passion for helping others really shone through when they were selecting what to put in the parcels.
“They thought about all family members and wanted to add special treats as well as essential items.
“They enjoyed all aspects of the project, from planning and decorating the salon to delivering the parcels to the Kerith Centre.
“I feel really proud of them.”
Bracknell Foodbank Manager Claire Mather said: “We were so grateful to the students.
“It’s a joy to see people in our community getting involved and using their skills and talents to find different ways to support those struggling in our local community, particularly at Christmas time.”
