It’s a double home weekend this weekend for the TSI World Bracknell Bees as Telford Tigers and Raiders IHC visit the Hive this weekend.
On Saturday the Telford Tigers make their first visit to the Hive for a couple of seasons and they head into the weekend as league leaders. There have been a few changes in the line up since the Bees last met the Tigers but equally they’ve retained many of their “big guns”.
Goaltending is taken care of by Brad Day with Massimo Agostini providing the back up services.Their defence is anchored by former GB star 42 year old Jonathan Weaver, who’s put up 10 points in nine games, with 25 year old Danny Rose being the next most experienced in amongst the defence core.
40 year old Canadian Jason Silverthorn is the leader of the pack up front with fellow veteran Rick Plant.
Dominic Florian leads their scoring with 15 points from nine outings while Scott McKenzie follows with 12 points. Tom Watkins remains in place as Head Coach / GM.
On Sunday attention turns to the Raiders, the second team to visit over the weekend.
Upfront they have Captain Aaron Connolly who, at the age of 26, already has over 350 senior games under his belt while Bhlahosav Novak leads their scoring with 13 points from nine games so far.
Lukas Sladkovsky follows with nine points split 6+3 and Jake Sylvester split 4+5.
The defence is led by Dan Scott with a quite familiar look to it. Goaltending is again led by Michael Gray.
Bees Head Coach Doug Sheppard looked ahead to the weekend; “When you get embarrassed as badly as we did last weekend, it’s not one specific thing. We have a lot of work to do this week.
“There’s nowhere to hide, we have the best team in the league coming here Saturday and the most physical team coming Sunday. It will be great to get Galazzi back on the ice this week, but realistically he’s a good couple weeks away from playing.
“We obviously miss his grit and physical presence. It can’t just be Galazzi when he’s back, it needs to be the entire team. There’s two things
you don’t want to hear about your team, one being soft the other being sloppy, we were both.
“It’s not good enough and we’ll be looking to improve our lineup with guys that are going to compete.”
Bees play at home on Saturday vs Telford at 6.15 and on Sunday vs Raiders at 5.30. Tickets can be
