For the third year in a row, resident Brian Pettifer at Berkeley Homes’ Woodhurst Park development has transformed his garden into a magical Christmas Elf Castle.
Children from Warfield Primary School, and from the wider development, were invited to post their letters to Santa, explore the Elf Castle and enter the Residents’ Association’s artwork competition.
Decorated with more than 27,000 lights, the Elf castle included two post boxes, one in the castle state room for young children, and one for the more adventurous children via a
raised walkway along the battlements where a beefeater greeted the families.
Residents of all ages were also invited to showcase their artistic talents by creating and submitting their original Christmas-themed artworks.
This competition was open to all forms of art, including paintings, drawings, crafts, and digital designs, culminating in a ceremony hosted by Elkie Russell, managing director at Berkeley Homes.
Brian, who is also a member of Woodhurst Park’s Residents’ Association, said: “We have such a talented and creative community here at Woodhurst Park, and are thrilled to see the artistic expressions of our residents during the holiday season.
“I would like to congratulate our winners of the competition – it was incredibly difficult to choose,
“The castle is my biggest project every year and is fantastic to see it come to life and enjoyed by so many neighbours at the development.”
Benjamin Ivey, sales and marketing director for Berkeley Homes, added: “Brian’s annual Christmas contributions to Woodhurst Park are truly a labour of love, and we are very lucky to have such an active and engaged Residents’ Association who provide these magical events for the local children.
“We thank Brian for helping to organise this alongside the art competition and local Christmas parties for all residents, and wish everyone a healthy and happy festive holiday.”
