A WOKINGHAM charity that works to combat loneliness in older people is already making preparations for a festive day that it hopes will be filled with the season’s happiness.
The Link Visiting Scheme holds its annual Christmas Day Lunch for seniors in the borough who might otherwise spend the day alone.
“We understand that loneliness can be especially challenging during the festive season, and we want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to celebrate in good company,” say Link organisers.
“Our Christmas Day Lunch is open to older people who would like to join us for a delicious meal, festive cheer, and wonderful companionship.”
The Link warmly welcomes volunteers to help make the day special.
The group would love to hear from people able to help with preparing and serving meals, to offer transport, or simply to be a friendly face and chat with lunch guests.
Volunteering is a rewarding experience, they say, and they are always looking for compassionate individuals to join their team long-term.
No experience is necessary.
