A number of clubs, including Championship teams, have expressed their interest in signing Reading FC defender Amadou Mbengue this summer.
As is the case with several Reading first-team players this summer, Mbengue is currently set to be a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old defender joined Reading on a free transfer from Metz in 2022 and has since become a fans favourite in Berkshire.
In his debut season he was used as a full-back, centre-back and a defensive midfielder under Paul Ince as the Royals were relegated from the Championship.
His second and third seasons fared much better as he built a formidable defensive partnership alongside Tyler Bindon with the pair regularly impressing with some superb performances both collectively and individually.
Having made more than 100 league appearances throughout his three season with Reading, his journey at the club may come to an end this summer if he does not sign a contract extension with the Royals still facing ownership issues.
Mbengue has been subject to transfer interest from Championship sides Watford and Blackburn Rovers.
Reports have also suggested that French side Brest, who are currency in 8th position in Ligue 1 are also interested in securing his signature.
Mbengue, who was born in France, started his senior career with French side Metz, making 11 appearances for Metz II before graduating to the first-team where he played 12 times.
