A FUNDRAISING walk for Building for the Future will support youngsters with disabilities and additional needs, and their families.
Staff and tots at Redwood Early Years in Wokingham, will put on their wellies for a terrific March for March in aid of Building for the Future’s inclusive play centre for disabled children, Our House.
Redwood Early Years manager Sarah Gresty is excited to be heading the fundraiser, in which 23 children aged two to five will aim to walk at least a mile each day.
“We’ll be exploring our lovely community and supporting this fantastic cause with every step we take,” she said.
“Getting outside for exercise and fresh air is super important for both children and grown-ups.
“It boosts our physical and mental well-being, lets us enjoy nature, and helps us stretch our legs while opening our minds.”
The Redwood Early Years March for March aims to cover 500 miles with walks taken daily alongside outdoor learning projects.
Its families are encouraged to clock-up the miles at home as well.
Borough charity Building for the Future offers children the opportunity to relax, have fun, within an environment where they are valued and accepted for who they are.
Its play centre in Wokingham offers a range of facilities, including soft play, a sensory room, teen chill-out zone, computers, games and a free play area.
But the charity has recently launched a new a fundraising drive for a new, larger building to enable it to support more disabled children, young adults and their families, seven days a week.
Youngsters at Redwood Early Years are aiming to raise £500 for this new play centre.
To support them, people can visit their JustGiving page, and crocheted Easter themed items are available for sale from the nursery.
