WITH this year’s Annual Wokingham Fireworks Extravaganza fast approaching, organisers are looking for a talented youngster to take part in an exciting countdown as crowds gather in Cantley Park for the spectacular event.
The winner, having used their artistic skills to express what the event means to them, will be invited to join Wokingham’s mayors to lead thousands of spectators from Wokingham Market Place to watch an impressive pyrotechnic display to music in Cantley Field.
They will also win themselves and their immediate family free entry to the major fundraising event.
To take part in the competition, primary school children need to put pen, pencil, pens, paints or any medium they like to paper, to let Wokingham Fireworks organisers know what they think Fireworks Night is all about.
Young artists are encouraged to fire up their imaginations, and to download a competition entry form soon.
The closing date for the competition is Monday, October 20, with the winner selected shortly afterwards.
All entries will be displayed on the Wokingham Fireworks Facebook page.
The Wokingham Fireworks Extravaganza will take place on Saturday, November 1, starting with a torchlight procession at 6.15pm, followed by the firework display from 7.30pm and a funfair.
Entry is by ticket only, available from the Wokingham Fireworks website.
