Brexit … well the one thing we do know for certain is that democracy is changing.
The problem is that every person in the country, as they voted, had a different interpretation of what Brexit means.
This has led to a free for all and vying for political power as the Prime Minister’s authority, and indeed Government’s authority is questioned and challenged.
The Bible states that from the beginning, human beings have questioned and rebelled against authority.
Whether or not you believe in the story of the Garden of Eden, what is crystal clear is the ingrained behaviour that was initiated by Adam and Eve’s desire to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
They wanted to take control of deciding right and wrong, not God.
And so do we!
The problem is, we can’t all make that decision as we differ in our view of what is right and wrong.
Where God draws the line causes us a problem because none of us meet his standards putting us in the dock.
But good news, he knows that, and because he loves us, he sent Jesus into the world to stand in the dock and take our sentence on our behalf. But we know better, we push him aside and refuse to accept his offer of forgiveness. The good news is, we still can.
