A GROUP of people with learning disabilities filled The Whitty Theatre stage with talent, fun, and pure joy, say audience members.
Performers from CLASP Wokingham, a self advocacy group for people with learning disabilities in the Wokingham borough, took part in a variety show on Friday described as an ‘absolute star-filled spectacular of talent.’
The group is said to have well and truly busted disability myths, with their display of talent.
Glowing audience comments on social media show how much people loved the variety show, which many described as uplifting.
“They gave their all, shone with joy, and took the audience on the most incredible journey,” said one.
The show meant a huge amount to CLASP members too.
Ashleigh, performing on stage for the first time, said: “I had the best time of my life with my group on Friday night.”
“We all had the best evening,” said CLASP founder Debs Morrison.
“The members were absoutely amazing, and we’re so proud of them.
“They definitely showed everyone how far we have come.
“Nothing can hold them back.”
