MEMBERS of a self advocacy group for people with learning disabilities helped clean up part of the borough recently.
A group of CLASP walkers stepped out in one of the area’s beauty spots to raise money for their organisation, and to spruce up the space for everyone’s enjoyment.
Police community support officers (PCSO) Vicki and Natalie joined the group for their litter pick.
The officers are very supportive of CLASP, regularly dropping in to their sessions and socials.
After a chilly, but cheerful stroll, and several bags of collected rubbish later, all the litter pickers were able to enjoy refreshments provided by Dinton Pastures Country Park.
A Dinton Pastures representative thanked CLASP members, and applauded those who braved the bushes during their tidy up.

CEO Debs Morrison said: “It really was a fabulous, well supported morning.
“Very cold but great to walk, chat and pick up litter, and all the while, giving back to our community.”

CLASP is run by its members, employing people with learning disabilities, and offering them voluntary opportunities.
Members receive one to one support, information, advice and signposting.
The organisation also runs a disability awareness training group, Listen To Us, and a campaigning group called Take Notice.
The group welcomes new member enquiries.
