A SELF advocacy group for people with learning disabilities begins one of its biggest fundraisers this month.
CLASP Wokingham’s Advent Raffle has been generously supported by local businesses.
Michell Munro, independence support worker with CLASP, said: “Local suppliers, supporters, and organisations have been so generous with their donations, and we have some lovely prizes to be won.
“This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, so all support in selling raffle tickets is wonderful.”
Tickets cost £5 each, £12 for three, or £20 for six, and will be drawn daily, live on Facebook, from Friday, December 1 through to Sunday, December 24.
Members of CLASP Wokingham can enjoy all their usual activities this month: Movie Mates, Coffee Shop, Dancing to Music, Book Corner, Evening Drop-In at Sedero Lounge, Active Sessions, Craft Club, Take Notice, Puzzle Club , Choir, and Board Games At The Library.
Sporting events include Happy & Healthy Club Sports & Fitness sessions at Wokingham Leisure Centre, Active Session with My Journey Wokingham and Woky Bikes 4 All, and disabled swim sessions at Wokingham Leisure Centre, open to all with a disability.

Friday, November 8 – a Learning Disability Partnership Board (LDPB) workshop on healthy living.
Friday, November 15 – a chance to get up close to snakes with help from animal handlers Berkshire Reptile Encounters.
Friday, November 22 – members will be able to enjoy a Victory Theatre project.
Friday, November 29 – they will be able to meet two learning disability nurses from RBH at an LDPB workshop.
Having already helped to open Squire’s Wokingham Garden Centre’s Christmas evening with a selection of songs, CLASP choir will provide more music outside Waitrose Wokingham, to raise money for Children in Need, on Friday, November 15, from 12.30pm until 1.30pm.
