A SELF advocacy group for people with learning disabilities continues a wide range of activities in September.
Regular social activities include crafts, films, sports, and drop in sessions.
Members of CLASP Wokingham can enjoy Movie Mates, Coffee Shop, Dancing to Music, Book Corner, Evening Drop-In at Sedero Lounge, Active Session, Take Notice, Puzzle Club , Choir, and Board Games At The Library.
Sporting events include Happy & Healthy Club Sports & Fitness sessions at Wokingham Leisure Centre, and a disabled swim session at Wokingham Leisure Centre, open to all with a disability.
Disabled swim sessions are at Wokingham Leisure Centre on Mondays and Fridays from 2pm until 3pm, at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre, on Tuesdays from 11am until noon and at Bulmershe Leisure Centre, on Wednesdays from 1pm until 2pm.
Swim sessions cost £1.70, with carers free of charge.
September highlights include the following special activities:
On Thursday, September 5, from 2pm until 4pm, the gardening group will be at Squire’s, planting up pots to be sold there the following day, from 10am-3pm to raise money for CLASP, who continue to be the garden centre’s chosen charity.
On Friday, September 6, the choir will be singing at Wokingham Library from 12.30pm-1.30pm, as part of its 100 years anniversary celebrations.
On the evening of Monday, September 16, members will join Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue at a training simulation evening at Reading University.
On Thursday, September 12, from 10am until noon, they can enjoy Woky Bikes 4 All sessions, cycling or walk from FBC to California Country Park and back before staying on for a games and socia in the FBC cafe.
It costs £2 to join the walking group.

Take Notice, the group’s campaign, education and inspiration session also has lots going on this month:
On Friday, September 6, members will visit Wokingham Town Hall and Museum with Wokingham Town Council Mayor Rob Comber.
On Friday, September 13, they have a guest speaker from Thames Valley Police
On Thursday, September 19, they will hear from Wokingham Borough Council about their housing consultation
And on Friday, September 27, Wokingham Borough Council will explain their supported living and home care framework
CLASP offers services Monday to Friday.
