MEMBERS of a self-advocacy group for people with learning disabilities in the Wokingham Borough wore winter woollies for charity, while learning about the environment.
On Christmas Jumper Day they raised £53.70 for Save The Children.

CEO and founder of CLASP Deps Morrison, said: “It was a brilliant day, and coincided with our Take Notice session.
“Representatives from Reading University and Wokingham Borough Council came to talk with us about climate change.
“It was great fun, because they gave the group lots of recycled material to make energy efficient houses with.
“One person created solar panels, and another made a windmill.
“People put in carpets and double glazing too, in their houses.
“It was fantastic, we all learnt a lot, and had loads of fun together.”
Michele Monro, independence support worker at CLASP, said: “It was very timely that our Save The Children fundraising event took place on the same day as the climate change session, considering the impact of this on children and the future internationally.”
CLASP Wokingham runs a wide range of activities and social get-togethers.
The group meets regularly throughout the year for Drop-in sessions, discussion groups, activities, exercise, and friendship.
Their last Drop-in of the year promises a Christmas jumper competition, a nativity performance, and Christmas Bingo.
All are welcome to join them at Cafe Mosaic inside Wokingham’s Bradbury Centre, on Tuesday, December 19, from 10am until noon.
