A WOODLEY based choir is offering men the chance to come along and sing with them.
The Thames Valley Chorus celebrates 50 years of harmony this year.
Established in 1974, the group performs songs from the shows, pop and gospel.
As part of their half century celebrations they held a party in Twyford earlier this year, and recently hosted a celebratory concert in Henley-on-Thames in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity.
Now they are inviting more men to join in the music making, and are holding a free singing course for interested singers.
Peter Leverett, chair of the choir, said: “Many men who have attended similar events in the past have said ‘the last time I sang in a choir was at school’.
“When they find out how much fun it is to sing in a large group, they say, ‘Why did I leave it so long?’.
“Whether you sing high or low, we’ve a part for you.”
Peter adds that the group is a friendly bunch who sing in four parts, with space for a range of voices.
“Every assistance will be given, and certainly no solo performances are required,” he said.
“What do you have to lose?”
The group rehearses at Bulmershe School, Woodley on Tuesday evenings.
At their singing course a couple of songs will be learnt, and there may be an opportunity to participate in a concert to be given on Saturday, December 7.
The free singing course is at Bulmershe School, on Tuesday, October 22, from 7.15pm until 9.30pm.
